If you have a family member or friend with Alzheimer’s on Long Island, help can be found at the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation.

The Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation (LIAF) is a nonprofit day center dedicated to helping individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related forms of dementia. Located in Westbury, LIAF provides transportation to help caregivers in need. Our agency-owned, wheel-chair accessible vehicles are operated by CPR certified dementia-trained drivers (all are MTA NYCT retirees). Door-to-door transportation is available in parts of Nassau County in addition to 2 drop off-pick up locations serviced by our buses. Programs are available Monday through Saturday.

The mission of Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation (LIAF) is to help improve the quality of life for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related memory disorders, and their caregivers.

For more than 25 years, LIAF has been providing supportive community-based services to Alzheimer’s families on Long Island. LIAF takes considerable pride in its pioneering role in the development of cutting edge services that foster the independence, dignity, well-being and safety of individuals with Alzheimer’s, thus aiding in the prevention of premature nursing home placement. LIAF’s programs offer help and hope for families grappling with Alzheimer’s disease
